The December schedule gets a bit confusing! Kindergarten’s schedule is different from everybody else’s. These changes are not indicated on the district calendar. December 17th and 18th are half days for grades 1-6. Kindergarten stays at school the entire day both of those days. December 19th and 20th are half days for grades K-6th school is dismissed at 11:50 on those days.

Half Day Information

If your child wishes to buy hot lunch on any of the half days (including the days we stay all day) your family must pre – order those lunches. (That form should be coming home soon)

Bus routes will be the same on all half days, however because the buses will only be carrying kindergartners on the 17th and 18th expect the buses to arrive a little early at the stops.

I will be offering short conferences with every family. This is a great time of for us to touch base. Sue Woodbury will be calling your family to schedule a conference with me.

These conferences are for parents and teachers. We discourage your kindergartner being at the conference. We find that we can communicate more honestly and openly without your child’s presence. That being said, we of course understand if you are unable to find childcare we still want to meet with you!

Gingerbread Houses

We will be beginning our volunteers the week of October 8th. I am including what you have signed up for. I look forward to seeing you at your time. If you have something that has come up please let me know. We still have another opening on Wednesdays let me know if you would like to join us. Volunteers must have completed a Washington State Patrol Background Check to volunteer in the classroom. ( I am including forms for those of you who have not completed these yet.)

Math Boxes

I am putting together some new boxes for math! I am really excited about what our students will be able to do with these, but I need your help! These boxes take a lot of little things that will be much easier to gather if we combine efforts. Please see the attached list! Do not go out and buy these things! Please send in anything you have that would help put these boxes together.

Materials Needed

Whatever you can send in would be really helpful! I am excited to get these boxes put together so we can use the activities for math. I have tried to organize the list by room, so that it may be easier to gather items. I need multiples of many of these items. Obviously make sure any items you send are clean and in decent shape.  I will let you know when you have gathered all of the tidbits.  Please don't go and buy these things!
